Switch to LiFePO4

Messaggio da stam » 23/03/2025, 13:32

Hello,

We have a lead battery, that needs replacement, and we are considering changing to LiFePO4.

Our current configuration:
Rimor motorhome (2021)
  • S-TTK with model B controls
  • ePvL fuseboard
  • BC-520 battery charger (230V)
  • DCC-531 dc-dc battery charger
  • no solar panels and no invertor
Am I right that all our equipment is suitable for a LiFePO4 battery, and that all we need to do is:
- change the switches of the BC-520 to off-off
- change the switches of the DCC-531 to off-off (which mentions Lithium)
- make sure our LiFePO4 battery has protection from charging when it is too cold

Basically, I have three (plus 1) questions?
1) Can we just replace the battery and change the switches as mentioned above, or should a dongle be connected to adjust the charging program? (If so, where can I find German dealers for ArSilicii that can do so?)
2) Am I right that both BC-520 and DCC-531 don't have protection from loading with too low temperatures?
3) Is there anything else that I forgot?

The additional question:
4) Does ArSilicii have a inverter to convert 12V to 230V when not connected to the mains to seamlessly integrate with the current set-up?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello
For 220V you need to set microswitch on BC-520 all OFF (default, programmable).
Also on DCC530 you need to set microswitch all OFF.
We haven't our inverter.
